There is a way. But I would not advise it. One mistake and you can split all the atoms of the world. Imagine a world of split atoms!





One thing for sure SAdam Hussein would have like to build one. Why I was never sure. But No One has found such a machine in his possesion . May be he is hidding it somewhere and would not tell anybody.





Imagine what such a machine would do it would destroy all the Masses of the world.





I certainly would not recomend anyone to use one.
actualy the machine that can split atoms could probly be made in your garage. You could either build a cyclotron or a nuclear pile. In both cases though you could only split very heavy atoms (such as uranium or thorium) and those would be very hard to get a hold of.


If you want to split smaller atoms you would need a more powerful particle accelerator(linier accelerator or synclotron), or a very powerful lazer.





The only one that at home you would really have a chance of making is the cyclotron, and if you did some junkyard shoping i would guess that you could make a simple one for about a thousand dollars. For plans to do that I would say look it up on the interweb

Okay you take a particle accelrator and then collide the atoms . Resulting in both splitting and combining of atoms. They break up into quarks I believe
The machine is nothing but an atomic reator which works in the principle of nuclear fission.An atom consists of proton ,electron and neutron. we can easily take away the electron from an atom since it will be bounded to the nucleus by force in an orbit. so the division of atom refers to the split of the nucleus ( to split the proton and neutron). Those two are bounded by a force which is equivalent to the energy that exploded in hiroshima in japan.so by neutralizing the proton , it can be separated from the neutron.since it is an chain reaction, deutrium or heavy water is used to stop the reaction.
