Anti-gay Anglicans are splitting their church in two... is it right?

Is it Christian to oppose the equal treatment of fellow citizens and in some cases fellow Christians who happen to be gay... while in many parts of the world gay are now facing rejection, violence and abuse in their own communities...imprisonment %26amp; killing of gays still continues in many countries and a large section of the the Anglican church seems to now be giving this abuse it's endorsement.Anti-gay Anglicans are splitting their church in two... is it right?

Many Christians when discriminated because of their faith will fight back like a Tsunami gone wild, isn't ironic that these are the same people that discriminate others just for loving someone that doesn't fit into a perfect cookie cutter mold, or at the very least whom they choose to sleep with. Adulterers are often just given a slap on the wrists, many a preacher/priest/pastor have fallen due to weakness but EXPECT everyone to forgive them coz they have EXTERNALLY shown repentence... question is will they extend the same Compassion and Mercy upon others in a similar predicament?

';Love thy neighbor as thyself...'; ( I dont see the scriptures saying love ONLY the virtous and straight neighbor, you can hate the rest and send them to the gutters)





Persecute someone for the sexuality/gender/race/faith , expect oneself to be persecuted in turn


Be unmerciful to them, then expect NO mercy from others when WE fall... and we all will one day.


For IF they are truly the lost ones, shouldn't the Faithful be the one to show them the Love of God? Not just by quoting the text but living it as part of life. The faithfuls are the one that reflect the image of God on earth... by being Bigots we are showing the world... God is THAT too...especially when we declare outloud ... I am in THAT religion! I am saved.
What ever splits the church is good. Their power has become oppressive and overwhelming recently.
I think that the divide between compassion and dogma is going to cleave almost every major church in two. With the C of E, it's a painful process, but one that will eventually be won by those who realise that behaving in a civil manner towards all people is preferable to blind Bible-thumping. It might irrevocably split the Anglican communion, but whatever...





The largest Protestant church in Canada, the United Church of Canada, freely welcomes and blesses all monogamous marriages. This decision was made with pretty much no grumbling at all from parishioners. Once the fundies get silenced, life continues to move on, and people go back to remembering that churches are meant to be inclusive, not exclusive. It just takes time.
Sure, gays can go to church





I draw the line that they can not be preachers, and ministers in any Christian religion (Or Islam / Judaism) All the religion's holy books are quite clear on that. If the leader will twist that part for their own means, they can do it anywhere
