Is this normal when trying to achieve a split?

i started ballet a few weeks ago, and the main thing we're focusing on is getting our splits all the way down to the floor.

i warm up and stretch correctly (i usually do this for about an hour). but after im done and i stay still for a while, the bone where my hip and leg are connected pops. and it hurts sooooo bad. is this kinda normal, or it is possible that im causing damage to my body?Is this normal when trying to achieve a split?
Popping is common when trying to achieve flexibility. But that doesn't mean its completely safe. This is usually a sign that you need to slow down, working for your splits is a process. Popping often means you are doing too much, too quick. Just slow down a littleIs this normal when trying to achieve a split?
Your body might not be used to this stretch yet, so it might be a good idea to see a chiropractor about your hip. You don't want to hurt yourself, but you do want to stretch so get it checked out just in case. It might not be used to the turnout either.
your body is probabaly not used to it
your body is probably just not us to it but don't push your self to hard or you could really hurt your hip.
