What kind of program can I use to split one song into two seperate songs?

It depends on what format the song that you are wanting to edit is in.

One extremely good program is Audacity (see link below), a free open-source audio editor. It will handle a large variety of audio formats. However, when editing an MP3 file, it converts the file to another format, does the editing, and then re-converts back to MP3. Each stage of conversion results in a loss of audio quality.

So, if you are wanting to edit an MP3 file, I would suggest mp3directcut, which will allow you to cut MP3 files into smaller pieces without doing any audio conversion. This isn't open source, but it is freeware. (See the second link below.)
