Let me explain... What I'm looking for is a device (if there is such a thing) that i can plug into the headphone jack of my computer so that I can hear music and the other end of it be able to plug into another headphone jack so that I would be able to hear both audio sources? Basically, what I want to do is listen to music on my computer while at the same time listen to my guitar amplifier through headphones. Is there such thing as a device that can split audio between two different sources?
What you're looking for is an audio mixer. Mixers are usually used with two or more audio sources as inputs, and then output to an audio amplifier connected to speakers. But you can simply use the mixer's headphone monitor jack if you don't really need external amps %26amp; speakers.
A less costly solution is to just get an audio jack and plug in one end to your guitar amp's ext output or monitor-output or headphone output, and the other end into your computer's audio-in or mic-in. You can then listen to your guitar amp's output from your computer. Check your computer's Sound Settings to make sure the input/s is/are turned on and to balance the output from the two audio sources (Wave for music in your computer and Line-in/Mic-in for your guitar amp) to your liking. Get an audio jack with ends that matches your computer and amp (most likely it will be ';PL to mini-PL.'; Most electronic stores carry these. If they don't have it exactly, ask for corresponding adapters).
Hope this helps!
